Investment Banking Analyst

We are seeking Investment Banking Analysts to join our London Investment Banking team in July 2012.
Analysts play an integral role on investment banking teams, providing analytical support on mergers and acquisitions and other financial advisory services for our clients. The role includes assisting with the preparation of company valuations, financial models, company marketing documents and client presentations in addition to performing research and various analyses in support of new business generation. Analysts develop their skills through broad exposure to both junior and senior bankers. Candidates must be eager and able to learn in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following key competencies and skills:
- Commercial judgement and awareness including an understanding of the Investment Banking business
- Written skills
- Transaction execution skills (including client management)
- Presentation skills (primarily in terms of preparation of presentations)
- Time and project management
- Stock Market awareness
- Research skills, using Investment Banking databases
Applicants should have the following qualifications/experience:
- A good first degree with an expected minimum 2:1. Accounting, Business, Economics and Finance concentrations are preferred, but not mandatory.
- High degree of numeracy
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Basic accounting knowledge (or part qualified accountant)
- Some knowledge of financial modeling is advantageous
