Henderson Global Investors is running its next intake of the Trainee Programme, looking for recent graduates, school leavers, those interested in an industrial placement year and those looking for a career change to join the business on a short term basis for 12 months. Unlike our rotational Graduate Programme, as a Trainee you would be placed in one of our teams for the duration of your contract which enables you to appreciate and understand the team's function in detail. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop skills from a mixture of both 'on the job' and formal training. You will gain a first hand insight into Asset Management whilst contributing to the success of the Company. This will be a paid experience, which could either help make future career choices or give the necessary experience for those embarking on their chosen career. For those Trainees who excel it may lead to a permanent role within Henderson.

The Success Story so far....

Launched in July 2010, to date we have recruited 49 trainees over 4 intakes. At present we have 21 Trainees on the scheme, with 75% of those who have already completed the year having secured permanent roles within the company. Trainees and former Trainees are currently placed in a range of divisions including Sales and Marketing, Property Investment, Investment Support, Finance, Human Resources, IT and Creative Services.

Current Trainee Opportunities

Our next intake for the Trainee Programme is April 2012. Placements for this intake will be in the following business areas:

  • Investment Management - Sales & Marketing
  • Property
  • Finance
  • Investment Support - Operations
  • Human Resources
  • Risk Management

Some successful applicants may know which area of business they wish to pursue and we will try to accommodate this during the selection process.


Whilst exceptional academic qualifications are always desirable, we are really looking for individuals who demonstrate a strong desire to learn and embrace a fast paced and dynamic environment. They must be driven to succeed and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a professional environment. We are looking for individuals who genuinely want to make the most of their time in a leading Financial Services Company and have a resourceful and 'can do' attitude.
